Information Session: by Ken Duke
1. On *Thursday, September 18, 2007 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at the UGA
College of Pharmacy Auditorium*, Mr. Ken Duke from the UGA College of
Pharmacy will present an *INFORMATION SESSION*. This session is
appropriate for any level student who is interested in pharmacy school
and will include information on pre-pharmacy requirements, application
procedures, the Pharmacy College Admission Test and statistics on the
2008 entering class. Please plan to attend.
Visitor's Day
2. *The UGA College of Pharmacy will have a VISITOR'S DAY on Saturday,
October 4, 2008 from 9:30 am to noon at the Pharmacy Building (south
campus).* There is no admission charge and no pre-registration. This is
a great opportunity to socialize with pharmacy students, watch an
admissions video and learn about pharmacy education from students'
perspective. Call 706-542-5278 for more information.
Preparing for PCAT
3. *If you are preparing for the PCAT, visit the MERC (Library) to
check out the latest edition of the PCAT prep book.* MERC is located on
the 1st floor of the College of Pharmacy Building. Hours of Operation:
8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday.
Embracing Diversity at UGA:
4. On Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from
12:30 pm to 1:10 pm, Room 149 College of Pharmacy Building,* John Glenn,
RPh, will be speaking about challenges he faced and overcame to becoming

5. The officers of the *Pre-Pharmacy Society* (club) are meeting and
planning activities for this semester. We will post meeting dates and
times on this listserv, if you are interested in joining. Stay tuned

or Jane Mann should make your advising appointments now.* Go to
appoint.franklin.uga.edu to make your appointment online or come by 106
New College (north campus, next to Chapel). If you are advised
elsewhere (Honor's, another school/college), please follow the
procedures outlined by that college.

Subject: Items for Attention
Screen on the Green
1. The first one, is a *"Screen on the Green"* event, on Wednesday, October 8th @ 7:15pm on Myers Quad. This event will feature a short documentary on pharmacy and clinical pharmacy opportunities. It is mostly geared toward pre-pharmacy students. Afterwards, we will be showing "Iron Man" and have free Pizza and Beverages. We hope that all pre-pharmacy members will attend this fun event. At this event, we will be advertising for the 6th Annual Dawgtoberfest Health Fair which is the following Wednesday. Dawgtoberfest Health Fair
2. The second event, is the 6th Annual *Dawgtoberfest Health Fair*, which is on October 15, from 12-3 pm on Herty Field. This is a new location and we hope that this North Campus location will help to attract students from all backgrounds and majors. This year's event will have informational booths hosted by pharmacy and non-pharmacy majors (such as public health, veterinary health, In Sickness and In Health). We invite the Pre-Pharmacy Society to host a booth on any topic or about the profession of pharmacy in general.
Also present at *Dawgtoberfest* will be FREE FLU SHOTS for the first 300 UGA students, faculty, and staff (with the presentation of your UGA ID) Free Chick-Fil-A, Smoothie King, Earth Fare, and Free t-shirts for all visitors.
